3rd-4th October 2026
I’ll be attending the Storylines National Hui, a conference dedicated to children’s writers and illustrators. This two-day programme brings together writing and illustrating workshops, panels, pitch slams, social networking, and the much-anticipated Literary Banquet.
These events are fantastic opportunities to make connections – catching up with old friends, meeting new people, and learning from one another. It’s a wonderful chance for members of New Zealand’s children’s writing and illustrating community to share their knowledge, support each other, and help grow both the sector and the quality of children’s books in Aotearoa New Zealand.
I’m looking forward to being part of it!

I’ve been invited to run a Children’s Creative Writing Workshop during the October School Holidays at the Mangere Bridge Library, Auckland.
It’ll be on Friday 9th October, 2.30pm – 3.30pm, for 10yrs + and will have limited numbers.
We’ll have some fun looking at the following:

🔆 Writing styles & genres
🔆 Core elements of a story – Conflict is King!
🔆 Where do ideas come from – how to find your creative spark?
💥Fun activities & exercises to light up your writing ideas!

I’ll be attending the Auckland Indie Writers Festival on the 29th August 2026 to support my author friends, find some new fantastic reads and listen to authors talk about their books or preform live readings.
There’s something for everyone and the festival is part of We Read Auckland 2026 running during the month of August.
